Dow has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technologist Lead (Mechanical Owners Rep.) in Freeport, TX! Leads the construction management work process discipline, demonstrates lead competencies of directing others, staffing, planning and controlling projects. Ensures construction of facilities meet EH&S, quality, cost and schedule per the businesses requirements. Typically at this level would lead several intermediate site executed projects up to a single large project. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Occasional travel is required - domestic travel up to 10% of the role

  • Continuous Improvement & Mentorship – Coach personnel and drive best practices for future projects.

Responsibilities

  • Champion construction safety best practices and lead a zero‑incident safety culture across all contracted work.
  • Provide technical welding support to the Construction Manager and project team.
  • Deliver construction expertise during Front-End Loading (FEL) to optimize cost, constructability, technology use, and planning efficiency.
  • Apply and support Global Capital Work Process (GPM) construction disciplines, integrated scheduling, and timely communication of schedule variances.
  • Reduce start‑up and operability issues through quality planning while coaching and mentoring less‑experienced construction personnel.
  • Utilize and promote best practices, standards, and technology; provide continuous improvement feedback; and apply processes such as system turnover, QA/QC and NCR resolution.
  • Review and approve contractor site specific quality plan.
  • Facilitate test plans meeting for hydrostatic pneumatic testing.
  • Maintain quality databases ( welding, hydrostatic, NCR)
  • Implement the Quality Assurance program for their assigned projects.
  • Ensure that the required contractor Quality Control procedures are properly implemented and that the constructed facilities comply with related requirements, codes, and specifications.
