About The Position
Under direct supervision, provides entry level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic. JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Under direct supervision, provide entry-level technical support in one or more of the following areas: Maintenance, Construction, Intermodal, Planning, Utilities, Surveying, Environmental or Traffic. Selected applicant will be required to take the Construction Technician test administered by the GA Dept. of Transportation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to learn to perform routine support duties for assigned program area (i.e. construction, surveying, traffic operations, lab testing or data collection).
- Ability to learn to operate equipment and/or instruments as required.
- Ability to assist in data gathering or collect data as requested.
- Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly.
- Demonstrates basic math skills (percentages, area of a triangle, trapezoid or circle, volume of a cylinder, rectangular prism, and unit conversions).
- Commitment to providing quality customer service.
