About The Position

The Construction Technician plays an essential role in the successful execution of SERVPRO construction and reconstruction projects. Working under the direction of the Superintendent and/or Project Manager, this position is responsible for performing hands-on construction tasks that support project completion, quality, and customer satisfaction. Depending on skill level and experience, responsibilities may include basic framing and finish carpentry, drywall installation, repair/patch or finish, painting, flooring installation, job site organization, debris removal, and material handling. The Construction Technician ensures that all work performed meets SERPRO’s standards of quality, professionalism, and safety, particularly given the company’s focus on insurance restoration and remodeling projects. Professional appearance, craftsmanship, and customer service are critical to maintaining Servpro’s reputation and fostering repeat business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Prior experience in construction, remodeling, or restoration preferred.
  • Working knowledge of common construction tools, materials, and methods.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Always make safety the top priority for self, coworkers, and subcontractors.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Perform hands-on construction tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Basic framing, drywall installation, mudding, and finishing
  • Trim and finish carpentry
  • Painting and surface preparation
  • Basic flooring installation (tile, laminate, vinyl, carpet, etc.)
  • Cabinet, door, and fixture installation
  • Site cleanup and debris removal
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and proficiently.
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work scopes.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials as directed.
  • Support the Superintendent or Project Manager in maintaining project schedules.
  • Pick up and deliver materials and supplies as needed.
  • Verify material deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and clean job sites at all times.
  • Submit daily project logs and jobsite photos via DASH.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding progress, issues, or delays.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Provide updates to customers when requested by management.
  • Assist with pre-construction meetings, final walk-throughs, and punch list completion.
  • Help obtain signed Certificates of Completion and Satisfaction when required.
  • Support project leadership in monitoring subcontractor performance and verifying work quality.
