The right Construction Technician I checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. This role exists to perform tasks that require physical labor on construction sites and to assist construction craft workers, such as electricians and carpenters, with a variety of basic tasks. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years old
Experience that demonstrates successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a commercial/industrial environment
At least 6 months of experience in the construction trade required
Must have a motor vehicle license and state required auto insurance
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees
Must reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in work
Must be self-motivated and disciplined
Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis
Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information
Must be committed to continuous improvement
Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene
Must promote and support a "team" work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers
Must be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

Construct, modify, and repair structural systems comprised of, but no limited to, framing, sheathing, roofing, exterior siding, and basic mensuration skills as they pertain to carpentry work
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications
Load or unload building materials to be used in construction
Operate or tend equipment and machines used in construction
Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
Identify and use basic construction materials
Clean and prepare project sites by removing debris and possible hazards
Complete duties in compliance with local and state laws and OSHA regulations
Able to work overtime as needed per management as well as off hours work including Late nights, overnight & Early morning hours
