About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join their Madison team. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior experience, as paid training and certification fees are provided. The technician will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn and perform various tasks related to construction materials testing in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction project sites.
• Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment.
• Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; assist with calculations and drafting as needed.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; communicate changing site conditions to supervisors.
• Attend project meetings as requested and assist with the organization of field equipment.
