ECS Limited is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join their Baltimore team. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior experience, as paid training and certification fees are provided. The technician will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn and safely perform various tasks related to construction materials testing.

  • Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction project sites.
  • Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
  • Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment.
  • Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections.
  • Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with the organization of field equipment.
  • Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Willingness to develop an understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Willingness to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
