About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join their Milwaukee team. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior experience, as paid training and certification fees are provided. The role involves conducting field activities related to the observation, testing, and sampling of construction materials, while working under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and insurance required.
• Willingness to develop understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
• Desire to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Interest in participating in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction project sites.
• Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment.
• Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers.
• Attend project meetings as requested and assist with organization of field equipment.
• Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.
