The Construction Supervisor leads field crews supporting aerial and underground telecom construction projects, including BAU, new build, FTTH, long haul, and maintenance. This role is responsible for overseeing daily crew operations, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule. The supervisor serves as the primary field leader responsible for coordinating crews, troubleshooting field issues, and maintaining strong communication with project management and customers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising telecom construction crews in the field
  • Strong knowledge of aerial and underground (UGE) telecom construction practices
  • Familiarity with fiber splicing, coax splicing, directional drilling, and utility map reading
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and/or Smartsheets preferred) and ability to learn company systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable handling reports, documentation, production tracking, and other administrative tasks related to project management
  • Ability to work in a hands-on field environment and support crews as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FTTH and long-haul fiber projects preferred
  • Experience working on Brightspeed projects a plus
  • Experience coordinating plow crews a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced field environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate multiple telecom construction crews

  • Ensure crews meet production timelines and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot field issues and support crews with hands-on problem solving
  • Provide strong customer and client communication
  • Coach and develop crew members in telecom construction practices
