About the position

The Construction Superintendent will lead ground-up multifamily and mixed-use construction projects in downtown Chicago, ensuring that all on-site activities are executed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget while adhering to safety regulations and quality control measures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of on-site construction activities, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
• Ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
• Monitor and enforce all safety regulations and protocols.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
• Ensure that all necessary permits, licenses, and inspections are obtained and completed in a timely manner.
• Review and approve all change orders, requests for information, and other project-related documents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• OSHA 30-hour certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
