About The Position

Tasks listed below are not an exhaustive list of all the tasks that may be required for this position. Working independently, complete full cycle accounting duties for all construction projects within assigned portfolio. Review and maintain AIA documentation. Prepare and oversee loan draws. Assist in setup and maintenance of job cost systems. Coordinate lien waivers and preliminary notice information for all jobs. Complete monthly accounts payable function for all construction projects within assigned portfolio to ensure accurate and timely payment, per contracts, of all subcontractors. Complete job forecasting and financial analysis for jobs in order to meet regularly scheduled deadlines. Review and analyze unadjusted trial balances and make adjusting entries as needed. Complete monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliation. Complete other detailed accounting analyses as requested. Complete monthly bank reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner. Research, analyze and resolve variances and discrepancies, as needed. Serve as principal point of contact for division staff with regard to draws, accounts payable and all other accounting functions regarding construction projects within assigned portfolio. Escalate accounting issues to senior accounting staff as needed to ensure timely and appropriate resolution. Complete monthly filing and dissemination of accounting documents. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, practices, work procedures and instructions. Make recommendations and modifications regarding office and site performance, business needs, etc. Any other tasks assigned or directed

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Two or more years' experience in construction/cost accounting
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and relate effectively, productively, and positively with other Associates
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn property management accounting processes, including use of any industry specific software
  • Typing and data entry skills
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator accurately by touch
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems, including job cost systems
  • Ability to have flexibility with working schedule based on business and deadline needs.
  • Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours and that may be other than Monday-Friday, 8-5. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is likely.
  • Consistent, regular and in person attendance during regular working hours at the workplace may be required.
