About The Position

The Construction Site Manager will oversee the daily operations of self-performing and subcontracted installation staff involved in the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all project systems. The Site Manager will be the main point of contact for all construction-related activities, assisting the Sr. Project Manager. This position will be based out of San Francisco(SFO) Airport.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of Construction Management experience.
  • Experience overseeing mechanical and electrical subcontractor activities in industrial facilities.
  • Ability to monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project quality, safety, and security requirements.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety card required; CMAA Certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, NAVIS Works, Bluebeam, Procore, and CMS.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and design prints.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and steel installation drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in presenting to customers, contractors, and management.
  • Proven knowledge of construction scheduling (Primavera P6 experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in planning, assessing, and adjusting resource requirements, including schedules and material delivery.
  • Experience with specification development and subcontract agreements.

  • First Aid Trainer Qualification Equipment Trainer Qualification
  • Valid passport in the event international travel is required.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • (Must be able to meet insurance underwriting requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-construction planning, including scheduling, estimating, and staffing.
  • Coordinate reviews and approvals of issued construction drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct constructability reviews throughout the design process.
  • Lead construction coordination and documentation, including pre-construction conferences, and progress meetings.
  • Develop scope of work packages and work with subcontractors/vendors on proposals.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors/vendors to develop and maintain schedules.
  • Manage the development of start-up and commissioning plans and oversee the commissioning process.
  • Coordinate the construction RFI process.
  • Assist engineers with quantity take-offs and additional construction services duties.
  • Implement scope, schedule, and budget for various projects (e.g., Base Build, Sustaining, Tool Install).
  • Foster a strong HSE/EHS environment adhering to safety requirements (OSHA).
  • Review RFPs, scope of work, and trade partner alignment.
  • Supervise mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and related architectural and structural scopes.
  • Manage change orders and contract modifications.
  • Maintain responsibility for project technical, contractual, budget, and schedule activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met, executed, and closed.
  • Lead the construction project team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization.
  • Review costs associated with projects, including COs, POs, and ECOs.
  • Review and approve internal and subcontractor safety field reports.
  • Approve expenses, timecards, and overtime with the Site Project Manager.
  • Lead and direct site superintendents and project managers, driving successful project delivery.
  • Chair daily and weekly trade meetings, and support pull planning sessions with subcontractors.
  • Depending on project needs, operate as both a Construction Manager and Construction Coordinator, spending significant time in the field.
  • Interface with factory engineers and managers to coordinate construction within live facilities without disrupting production.
  • Oversee daily activities of client and contractor workforce, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections and review pay applications from contractors.
  • Address problems in a timely manner while coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate as-built drawings with the field and engineering teams.
  • Resolve technical issues between engineering and construction operations.
  • Lead quality control efforts throughout the project.
  • Ensure the scope of work is completed to the satisfaction of the client, meeting HSE, quality, financial, risk management, and policy expectations.
  • Manage self-perform installations, including mechanical, electrical, and steel erection scopes.
