About The Position
FirstEnergy is a forward-thinking electric utility dedicated to integrity, safety, reliability, and operational excellence. The Construction Site Coordinator position is crucial for overseeing and coordinating pre-construction, construction, and post-construction activities for Transmission and Distribution substation and line projects. This role is open for multiple territories including Toledo Edison, Ohio Edison, and Illuminating Company. The individual will be responsible for fostering a high-performing safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and effectively managing project schedules and resources. The Construction Site Coordinator will work closely with project teams to develop contractor bid packages, participate in pre-bid meetings, and assist in constructability reviews. They will coordinate material requests, monitor contractor use of materials, and ensure that all stakeholders have the necessary permit copies. The role also involves documenting project site meetings, inspecting contractor work against design standards, and implementing risk management plans for anticipated construction risks. This position requires a clear understanding of project scopes, schedules, and quality standards, as well as the ability to articulate these requirements to vendors and contractors. The Construction Site Coordinator will also participate in contractor evaluations and project review meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of construction processes and outcomes.
