About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual for the role of Construction Safety Manager. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all safety requirements and regulations are followed within a hyperscale data center, with a focus on network cabling projects involving the installation of fiber and copper infrastructure. The primary tasks include preparing safety manuals, conducting job site hazard analyses, reviewing safety requirements, inspecting work activities, and training crew members on safe work practices to promote a culture of safety. Requirements

  • 5+ years of practical safety experience in the construction industry with one of the following certifications: STSC: Safety Trained Supervisor for Construction CHST: Construction Health and Safety Technician CSP: Certified Safety Professional
  • 3+ years of safety team management experience of at least 5 employees.
  • OSHA 500/501
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and best practices applicable to construction, telecom, and low-voltage safety programs.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA),with high attention to detail and audit-ready documentation.
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct safety inspections, hazard analyses, and incident/near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience enforcing safety in active, zero-downtime environments with strong understanding of hyperscale owner safety culture, change control processes, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for workforce training, toolbox talks, stakeholder collaboration, and owner-facing reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, maintain accurate records, and meet operational requirements including valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and successful background and drug screening.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Additional certifications (First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Fall Protection, NFPA 70E) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, mentorship and performance oversight to a team of 5+ safety coordinators.
  • Maintain anon-site presence within active and new-build hyperscale data center environments, serving as the primary safety authority for all low-voltage scopes.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve hyperscale-specific safety manuals, policies, and procedures covering structuredcabling, fiber optics, containment, racks, pathways, and live environments.
  • Create, manage, andmaintainSite Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA), and other audit-ready documentation aligned with owner and GC requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, TIA, BICSI, and hyperscale client standards through plan reviews, frequent site audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
  • Lead hazard identification efforts, investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts/conditions, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver hyperscale-required orientations, task-specific training, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education, including OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 trainings, to promote workforce readiness and a proactive safety culture.
  • Oversee proper selection, use, inspection, and maintenance of PPE, lifts, ladders, fiber tools, and testing equipment across large, multi-crew deployments.
  • Collaborate with hyperscale owners, general contractors, project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors; track safety KPIs, submit required reports, and communicate safety performance and trends.
