About The Position

Intern gains valuable on-the-job experience as they perform various assignments similar to those performed by Safety Specialist , include tasks both out in the field and in the office. Safety Managers and other members of the project team become mentors as Interns assist in all aspects of the construction project, learning and developing the key roles and functions to build the work.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with/or Safety-Related Certification
  • Must be at least a sophomore in the program
  • Willing and able to travel / temporarily relocate for the duration of the internship
  • Demonstrate initiative, strong work ethic and leadership ability
  • Good public relations and communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Visit job sites and monitor safety compliance
  • Get to know the workforce and build a relationship of trust
  • Perform safety inspections of company facilities, production plants, and equipment, then follow up with stakeholders on findings
  • Conduct safety training and attend site safety meetings
  • Analyze and report on incident trends
  • Function as a safety expert on safety related issues
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/ MSHA regulations
  • Safety data input.
