About The Position

Superior is seeking a Construction Safety Assistant to support jobsite safety efforts while gaining hands-on experience in construction safety practices. This role supports maintaining safe working conditions for people and property and assists with incident reporting, safety documentation, and jobsite monitoring under the guidance of senior safety and operations team members. This position serves as a first step toward becoming a Safety Coordinator and is ideal for someone looking to build foundational experience in construction safety. This position is based on a jobsite in Columbus, Ohio.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support Field Operations, Project Operations, senior safety staff, the General Contractor, and trade partners in daily jobsite safety efforts
  • Participate in daily jobsite walks and assist with hazard identification and mitigation documentation
  • Observe jobsite activities and help promote compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and maintaining safety documentation following trainings and meetings
  • Support documentation of injuries, incidents, and near misses in accordance with company procedures
  • Assist with audits, daily reports, and basic safety logs under supervision
  • Learn and remain informed on current safety policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Attend jobsite safety meetings and trainings
  • Participate in bi-weekly safety trainings at Superior’s Advanced Logistics Facility (ALF) in Gahanna, Ohio as part of a structured development path to build foundational construction safety knowledge
