There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
The Construction Quality Engineer (Plan/Spec Review) at Flintco, LLC plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of construction projects during the front-end planning phases of the project lifecycle. This position can be based out of any Flintco office and will primarily support the Quality Assurance Manager in executing quality services. The engineer will be responsible for conducting design and specification reviews, evaluating existing conditions, and performing preliminary risk assessments to identify potential issues early in the project. In this role, the Quality Engineer will perform in-house reviews of project-level plans and specifications at critical design releases. This involves identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions in the documentation to minimize the number of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Change Orders that may arise later in the project. The engineer will prepare comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents and ensure that all documents are well-coordinated between various design disciplines. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will present constructability findings transparently to the Flintco Operations team and track potential constructability issues to resolution. Collaboration with Flintco Operations and Construction Support Services is essential, as the engineer will seek opportunities to drive process improvements using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and other enhancements. The role also includes making value engineering recommendations at the outset of the design and working closely with the preconstruction team and contractors on cost analysis exercises, which encompass value engineering options, maintenance costs, and total costs of ownership for major capital projects. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
