About The Position

This position will start in Kansas and will require travel and work in the Midwest (e.g. Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska). The primary function is to implement company quality control plans for the heavy highway industry while maintaining a professional working relationship with the owner's representatives in order to keep the project on schedule and produce a quality product. The position will report to the Operations Manager. Some products tested by the QC Technician include but are not limited to: concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to acquire material testing certifications.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a 'Negative' result.
• Must be able to complete a post-offer physical with a 'Capable' result.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience testing on civil engineering projects or education in the heavy highway industry.
• Material testing certifications such as ACI or State Highway Department Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the company contact with the owner's representative for QC matters.
• Sample for and conduct quality control tests according to the contract documents and specifications.
• Completes all quality control documentation such as spreadsheet summaries and transmits the appropriate records daily.
• Analyze and interpret results of QC testing & activities. Provide recommendations to Operations and QC personnel on appropriate adjustments and/or changes in processes to maintain acceptance and efficiency.
• Properly maintain the field laboratory and associated test equipment. Including the scheduling of field laboratory equipment calibrations, as needed.
• Pursue involvement with the company sponsored technical training program and continue your individual educational efforts associated with quality control.
• Provide support in other assignments as scheduled by company managers.
