About The Position

Under general direction, technically supervises quality projects or major phases of significant quality projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned project. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge to the completion of significant quality assignments. Provides leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the project is designed, procured and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements. Provides leadership for new systems, development, proposals, implementation, procedures and any related quality activity. Develops and applies advanced quality assurance/control theories, as well as research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies. Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach, as well as organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems. Reviews project process and evaluates results. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Makes frequent decisions using principles and professional independent judgment. Conducts investigations and tests that are of moderate to considerable complexity. Provides technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors. Requirements

  • BA/BS Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management and 6 years of relevant construction quality control experience or AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

  • Solid understanding of the construction delivery process.
  • Strong background and understanding of Construction Documents and Submittals.
  • Comfortable with interacting with Construction Team members and Tradespeople.
  • Knowledgeable of many different construction types and an elementary understanding of building science concepts.
  • Experience with ASTM standards and knowledge of construction testing procedures.
  • Experience with building codes is a plus, but it is not required.
  • Experience in all construction-related trades, especially building envelopes, life safety, and flooring.
  • MEP+FP knowledge is a plus.
  • Able to research, learn quickly, and communicate that knowledge with individuals of different levels of understanding.
  • Effective at promoting an idea or vision and can motivate people to action.
  • Be able to learn to provide a practical understanding of why things go wrong in the design and construction phases and the ability to direct the project team as needed.
