About The Position

RQ Construction is looking for skilled Construction Project Managers (PMs) to join our field operation teams for projects located in Norfolk VA, and surrounding areas for work on active military installations. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of construction projects, from initial planning and design through final delivery. This role ensures projects are executed in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations. Local candidates are preferred; however, travel or relocation may be required, as this is a fully on-site position. Founded in 1996, RQ Construction, LLC has grown from a strong presence in Southern California's commercial and government Design-Build sector into a company with both national and international reach. Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, we provide end-to-end Design-Build services and manage projects across the United States with dedicated field teams assigned to each job site. Our expertise lies in delivering fast-paced new construction projects for public and private clients, with a primary emphasis on Department of Defense (DoD) work. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction project management or similar role
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, including roles such as Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager (or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour certifications required (training available if needed)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within the Design-Build environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with industry software such as Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM, or Revit is preferred
  • STS certification is a plus
  • LEED Green Associate (GA) or Accredited Professional (AP/AP+) credentials preferred
