Some travel required. Summary Leads all new construction and remodeling projects for designated areas within the Sanford organization. Responsible for leading project design, estimating, project management, purchasing, cost accounting and code compliance. Oversees construction progress, ensuring that timing, costs and contract requirements are adhered to. Oversees construction, building equipment installation, renovation and redesigning projects. Job Description Oversees all phases in the project life cycle including pre-design, programming, design, construction and occupancy phases. Effectively communicates and advises end-users on project scope, schedule and budget, reviewing designs, equipment specifications/substitutions, purchasing and accounting procedures. Reviews contractor and architectural drawings for code compliance, as well as Sanford design standards, involving regulatory bodies' requirements, i.e. City, State, International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and in some areas, Joint Commission (TJC). Responsible for maintaining compliance with safety, asbestos, infection control, and other applicable policies. Demonstrates familiarity with electrical/mechanical systems. May also oversee contractors within the project. Develops and designs feasibility studies for review. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.
  • Three years' experience managing construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, mechanical and electrical, and HVAC building systems.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of design principles, scheduling, construction means and methods and codes.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and manage schedules and critical timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
