The purpose of the Support Center is to deliver a high level of service within their work center in order to support the business. The Project Manager – Facilities & Construction leads the planning, coordination, and execution of remodel, construction, and facility initiatives across Border Foods locations. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with brand standards, operational needs, and regulatory requirements. Partnering closely with Operations, Development, vendors, and franchisor partners, this role plays a critical part in maintaining safe, functional, and high-performing environments for our teams and guests while supporting long-term capital strategy and asset lifecycle planning. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in facilities, construction, maintenance, or remodel environments required.
  • Project coordination, project management, or site supervision experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and scopes of work.
  • Strong vendor coordination and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel up to ~40% of the time; some projects may require extended on-site presence.
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and provide clear updates.

  • Experience with facility/project management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Capital & Facility Planning - Support development and execution of annual and multi-year capital and repair & maintenance plans.
  • Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and tracking of project expenditures.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, vendor efficiencies, and asset redeployment strategies.
  • Contribute to life-cycle planning for restaurant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Remodel & Construction Project Management - Serve as point person on assigned remodel, construction, and facility projects from inception through completion.
  • Define project scopes, source and coordinate vendors and trades, and manage timelines.
  • Order equipment and materials; coordinate delivery, installation, and project execution.
  • Provide on-site supervision throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Complete punch lists and ensure project closeout and documentation.
  • Represent Border Foods when working with General Contractors.
  • Facility Operations Support - Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair initiatives across locations.
  • Support management of non-operational facilities when necessary.
  • Assist with facility readiness related to brand initiatives and operational needs.
  • Vendor & Partner Management - Manage vendor sourcing, bids, negotiations, and performance.
  • Coordinate owner vendors, equipment installers, and service providers.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and construction teams as needed.
  • Compliance, Brand Standards & Risk Support - Work with city building departments on permits, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain understanding of franchisor specifications and facility standards.
  • Support Risk Management during facility emergencies, casualty events, and urgent repairs.
  • Communication & Project Administration - Communicate project status, timelines, and budget updates to Facilities leadership, Operations, Accounting, and Development partners.
  • Maintain project documentation, photos, schedules, and reporting tools.
  • Provide summary reporting and recommendations related to facility needs and vendor utilization.
