Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience.
  • Recent experience as a construction project manager, preferably within heavy civil or marine construction.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
  • Marine, structures, heavy lifts, or concrete construction preferred.
  • Experience with HCSS & Primavera preferred.
  • 30-hour OSH certification preferred.
  • Fall Protection Competent Person preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of the project team, which includes managing, teaching and mentoring to create an efficient and effective project team and a positive working environment.
  • Ensures all work meets quality standards and is performed in compliance with contract and permit requirements.
  • Responsible for the financial success of the project.
  • Ensures financial progress is tracked accurately and that labor, cost and forecast reports are completed weekly/monthly.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews project proposal to determine and coordinate time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Utilizes a CPM baseline schedule and provides monthly schedule updates submitted and approved by client to ensure timely completion of the work.
  • Ensures adequate resources are available to the project including management staff, crews, equipment and supplies.
  • Effectively communicates contract changes, entitlement arguments and time/cost impact analysis.
  • Responsible for all contract negotiations with the client and vendors.
  • Conducts negotiations in good faith based on fairness, cooperation and standard of business ethics.
  • Works as member of the estimating team during the project procurement phase.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment.
