Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials, operating over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Globally, it is an integrated manufacturer of building materials and solutions with leading market positions in cement, aggregates, and ready-mixed concrete, represented in more than 50 countries with around 51,000 employees at almost 3,000 locations. The company is committed to sustainability, focusing on massive CO₂ reduction, efficient recycling technologies, and digital solutions, aiming to be a front runner on the path to carbon neutrality and circular economy in the building materials industry. The Construction Project Manager II will own the execution of construction projects ranging from $5M to $25M, from bid award through closeout, including subcontract development, subcontractor onboarding, and full project administration. This role involves managing overall project financial performance, overseeing budgets, cost controls, forecasting, backcharges, and change orders to ensure projects are delivered at or near budget. The manager will lead field and resource coordination, working closely with Superintendents and colleagues to plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and sequencing of work, tracking progress, communicating status, and resolving issues. A key aspect of the role is serving as the primary point of contact with PennDOT, maintaining daily interaction with owners and inspectors, submitting and updating progress schedules, negotiating change orders and time extensions, and resolving scope discrepancies. The position requires a balance of office and field leadership (approximately 50/50) to ensure work aligns with contract requirements, proactively identify scope gaps or risks, and prevent unapproved or uncompensated work.
