Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical material to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead significant HVAC Controls construction projects in the Houston market and at customer sites.
  • Ensure profitable execution of assigned Building Automation System (BAS) Complex Projects.
  • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, billing, budget adherence, and scope compliance of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with owner and contractor sales managers, branch installation managers, engineering/technician teams, and other teams.
  • Provide early sales support activities in the TAS and development process.
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements.
  • Adhere to safety standards for all Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors.
  • Develop and execute project schedules according to plan.
  • Interact, schedule, coordinate, and collaborate with Project Engineers and System Application Engineers.
  • Evaluate contractual scope of work and address impacts of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes.
  • Seek additional work through change orders and perform associated cost estimates.
  • Manage company technical resources and subcontractors, overseeing costs, billings, and collections.
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential issues.
  • Establish project recovery plans when necessary and resolve disputes with minimal escalation.
  • Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.
  • Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with HVAC Sales & Operations Managers and other teams for resource allocation.
