Construction Project Manager / Estimator
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager / Estimator to lead custom residential and light commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion. This hybrid role combines detailed cost estimating with hands-on project management to ensure high-quality builds are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong experience in custom home construction, renovations, and small commercial projects, with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining close communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential or light commercial construction project management
- Strong background in construction estimating and budgeting
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Solid understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Experience managing multiple projects at various stages of development
- Strong organizational and cost-control skills
- Professional, client-facing communication abilities
- Proficiency with construction management and estimating software

- Experience with custom home construction
- Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes
- Background in both ground-up and renovation projects
Responsibilities
- Manage custom residential and light commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and proposals for ground-up and renovation projects
- Review architectural plans, specifications, and scope documents to identify cost drivers and risks
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking reports
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and material procurement
- Monitor jobsite progress to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and schedule adherence
- Manage change orders and maintain accurate project documentation
- Conduct site visits to align field execution with estimate assumptions
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding scope, timelines, budgets, and expectations
