About The Position

Requirements

  • Six years of full-time professional work experience in transportation engineering construction/design project management.
  • A combination of related education in construction management, engineering, or engineering technology equal to six years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administers construction contracts and monitors consultant's construction management of transportation projects.
  • Monitors project schedules, expenditures, materials, and produces daily documentation.
  • Works with PE to plan manpower needed for each project, ensuring that material and equipment needs are adequate.
  • Reviews all activities and reports to confirm that all project items are complete.
  • Analyzes claims by reviewing claim packages from contractors and makes recommendations to the Resident Engineer.
  • Reviews plans and specifications to make decisions regarding layouts, alignments, and specifications for bid document packages.
  • Executes change orders as required.
  • Initiates, develops, and maintains effective professional working relationships with work units within CDOT and external entities.
  • Coordinates and interacts daily with the general public, private consultants, and contractors involved in assigned projects.
  • Leads and mentors less experienced assistant project managers.
