About The Position

Durable Restoration is dedicated to preserving and restoring historic structures and landmarks, working with a variety of clients including churches, government buildings, universities, museums, and private residences. Requirements

  • Must have at least a 2-year construction related degree, construction management experience, or construction estimating experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specification books.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, standards, and processes and their impact on project outcomes.
  • Critical thinking skills to estimate project costs without relying solely on price per foot methods.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel, with most travel limited to three days at a time.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screenings.
  • Valid driver's license with 4 or fewer points for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to pass Federal, NSA, and Department of Defense background checks for military and/or government projects.
  • Willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of traditional building techniques and their function in preventing water infiltration/deterioration.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with potential clients to evaluate their project and determine if the work aligns with the scope of services provided.
  • Climb tall ladders (interior and exterior) to access areas of a structure, such as interior bell towers and steeples.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings and project sites as needed to assess the scope of work.
  • Provide accurate, complete, profitable, detailed estimates to respective clients.
  • Collaborate with the construction team throughout each phase of the project to ensure adherence to historical means and methods.
