In our continued mission to deliver the best value, experience, and opportunity for our communities, stakeholders, and partners using customer insights and experience, we are seeking a Construction Project Engineer who will coordinate construction activities for projects up to $5 million in scope. This position will report directly to the AVP, Construction & Development with geographic flexibility to work remotely offered by Tanger's hub-and-spoke approach to a modern Teams-driven workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in retail or commercial construction.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze design changes and scope revisions based on field conditions.
  • Working knowledge of estimating, construction methods, materials, and scheduling.
  • Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of budget limitations and cost controls.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders and lead teams to meet project goals.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel via commercial airlines and maintain a valid driver's license to operate your own vehicle or rental car in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with AVP, Construction & Development to prepare in-house estimates.
  • Coordinate scope-of-work, solicit and review bids, and ensure bid alignment with project requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor work, schedule, quality control, and budget for small to mid-scale projects.
  • Participate in proposals, price estimates, specifications, and schedules.
  • Monitor budgets, review payments, and provide regular project updates.
  • Prepare and manage construction schedules for assigned projects.
  • Work with AVP, Construction & Development to monitor and secure necessary approvals for project phases.
  • Collaborate with teams to review construction drawings, revisions, and RFIs.
  • Provide updates to Leasing, Real Estate, Operations and Accounting departments regarding project status.
  • Visit construction site to observe progress and ensure quality is achieved and critical dates are met.
