DEC Department The Design, Engineering & Construction (DEC) team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering data centers from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. DEC also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to success through technical feedback and review, and active participation in review of schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. When compared to external resources, our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results. Position Overview This role is based on-site in New Albany, OH. Vantage is looking for a self-starting Project Engineer Intern to help drive core project coordination efforts across a wide spectrum of ongoing construction projects. The internship program will have the opportunity to work closely with Project Management staff on a large, data center campus project during the many different stages of development that are currently ongoing (design, sitework, building foundations, building interiors, commissioning, closeout etc.). This position will provide an overview of the following areas: design development, engineering, contracting, scheduling, cost control, commissioning, and closeout.

Requirements

Education: Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field.
Experience: Rising Junior or Senior status
Minimum GPA requirement – 3.0
Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Project Support: Assist project engineers and project managers in implementation of project specifications.
Work closely with Operations to coordinate work with MOP log and track required approvals.
Prioritize input required from internal stakeholders and drive to meet scheduled timelines.
Vendor and Contract Management: Manage owner-vendor contracts and ensure that deliverables align with project requirements.
Field Execution and Coordination: Translate job requirements to execution in the field, ensuring minimal supervision is required.
Perform job walks with stakeholders & contractors as needed.
Facilitate page-turn reviews and capture comments with action items for the internal team.
Documentation and Compliance: Manage the submittal and RFI (Request for Information) processes to keep project documentation updated and accurate.
Manage design development and document reviews.
Ensure project compliance with Vantage document controls and file specifications.
Transcribe meeting minutes and action items and drive each item to closure.
Project Closeout: Administer project closeout requirements, ensuring all documentation is turned over in compliance with specifications.
Additional Duties: Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
