About The Position

As a Construction Project Accountant at Z-Modular, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of construction cost assignments to various projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You'll contribute directly to the financial success of our projects by ensuring accurate tracking of costs and maintaining timely payment schedules to vendors. You will collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that financial data aligns with budget projections and timelines. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and enjoys maintaining clear communication across teams. This is a hybrid role located in Chandler, Arizona.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in Construction Accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting preferred (equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of MS D365 being a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• In-depth knowledge of the purchase order and payment process requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities

• Reviews subcontractor invoices for accuracy and obtains approval for invoices related to construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract terms.
• Monitors purchase orders for status and availability of funds, ensuring accuracy for correct cost assignment to projects.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Collaborates with project managers to maintain accurate project budgets and forecasts, tracking expenses against budgets.
• Regularly audits subcontractor billings to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Assists with month-end closing accruals.
• Assists with project financial closeouts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
