About The Position

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for an experienced Construction Planner/Scheduler. We offer flexible work arrangements—remote for candidates not near one of our offices, and hybrid for those within commuting distance. Preferred candidate locations are in the Southeast (North Carolina) or New England (Worcester, MA area), due to weekly or monthly travel to project sites in these regions. In this role, you will develop, progress, and forecast all phases of the project schedule/plan using the most current industry practices and software. You will provide planning leadership and integrate with engineering, procurement, cost, technical, and construction disciplines to ensure seamless reporting and effective Capital Project Delivery.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a construction planner/scheduler on facilities capital projects.
  • Ability to generate earned value, SPI, CPI, and other schedule performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and qualification (EPCQ) processes in the Construction Pharma/Bio-tech Industry.
  • Has understanding of engineering, construction methodologies, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of modern planning and scheduling principles, methodologies, techniques, and tools including CPM, Last Planner, 4D, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 Planner, Microsoft Project as well as MS Office Suite programs (MS Excel, MS Access, Power BI, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in engineering or related technical field, construction management, or applicable experience.
  • PMI, AACEI, or other industry certifications.
  • Knowledge of vPlanner, BIM 360, and other visual & collaborative planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and update project plans and schedules encompassing the entire engineering, procurement, construction, and qualification (EPCQ) life cycle.
  • Analyze schedule input from project partners, including clients, internal teams, vendors, and contractors, to verify schedule durations and integrity as well as evaluate the logic and float paths.
  • Assure the credibility of the information in the master schedule.
  • Collaborate with estimating and cost control to resource and cost-load schedules as required.
  • Collaborate with the team to support constructability and value engineering.
  • Monitor schedule progress, deviations, and variances, and assess impacts on the critical/near-critical path activities.
  • Assist in developing alternatives for corrective action.
  • Prepare schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis.
  • Maintain a record of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
  • Collaborate with all groups to improve company processes, systems, and intellectual infrastructure to promote organizational learning and continuous improvement.
