About The Position

Atmos Energy has an opening for a Construction Operator in its Marrero location. This is an entry level position responsible for basic construction and maintenance activities of a natural gas utility system. The role may involve operating heavy and/or specialized equipment and tools. As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
• Natural Gas Utility Construction experience is a plus.
• CDL Class A is a plus.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment and lift up to 88 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in natural gas utility construction.
• Completion of Operator Qualifications (OQ) and OJT specific to Construction Learning Path.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures.
• Assists in the installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters and regulators.
• May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
• Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
• Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
• Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies and procedures.
