Construction Observer / Inspector

As a Construction Observer / Inspector, you will perform contract item inspections for ensuring compliance with plans and specifications on all phases of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a construction inspector on infrastructure projects under the general supervision of the project engineer
• Tracks and inspects the daily activities of the contractor, measuring completed items of work and recording them for payment
• Daily project documentation
• Determines when the project materials and procedures are not in compliance with project plans or specifications. Submits daily diaries or inspection logs, detailing all daily activities, labor, and equipment
• Inspects traffic control and other worksite items for safety and compliance with standards
• Coordinates with the contractor to facilitate construction operations

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Construction Observation / Inspection
• Basic computer skills using spreadsheets, word documents etc
• Clean driving record
• Some travel required
• Experience in utility & transportation-related construction projects is preferred

Nice-to-haves

• ACI Certified is a bonus
• Familiarity with NMDOT Specifications is a bonus
• Familiarity with Indian Health Service Sanitation Facilities Specifications is a bonus
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
