About The Position

The Department of Computing and Applied Technology is excited to announce full-time tenure track faculty appointments in Construction Management/Architectural Design at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of August 2024. We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about teaching in both the Construction Management and Architectural Design disciplines. The successful candidates will be responsible for the development and delivery of college-level courses and labs in Construction Management and Architectural Design, contributing to the academic growth of our students and the overall mission of the department. The positions require a comprehensive understanding of various construction-related fields, including but not limited to building systems, renewable energy systems, building performance evaluation, OSHA safety regulations, HVAC, building trades, design fundamentals, and common software programs utilized in both disciplines. Candidates will be expected to teach a variety of courses, such as CMG-101 Introduction to Construction & Architecture, CMG-102 Building Plan Interpretation, CMG-112 Construction Graphics I, and many others, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for successful careers in the industry. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidates will be expected to engage actively with students, providing support and guidance to enhance their learning experience. This includes being responsive to student inquiries, utilizing technology to improve learning outcomes, assessing student performance, and adapting the curriculum to meet educational objectives. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly in working with underrepresented student populations, and should be innovative in their teaching methods, incorporating hands-on learning activities that foster student engagement. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be accountable for meeting departmental and college requirements, including timely submission of grades and other necessary documentation. They will also be expected to collaborate with local employers and community partners to create service learning and internship opportunities for students, thereby enhancing their practical experience and employability.
