The Dallas, TX office is seeking a Summer Intern for Construction Materials Testing Services. This is a great opportunity for students majoring in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management. Under supervision and working with experienced staff, the successful candidate will assist in performing routine inspection and testing of construction materials in the field, in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications, and will also perform routine materials laboratory tests for the purpose of verifying suitability and conformance industry and construction specifications. Training will be provided. Inter-departmental training will be available at the request of the environmental, geotechnical, and civil departments within Kleinfelder. Requirements

  • Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks (following an offer)
  • Verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials (following an offer)
  • Motor vehicle report (MVR) (following an offer)
  • Comprehensive background check (following an offer)

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing routine inspection and testing of construction materials in the field, in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications
  • Perform routine materials laboratory tests for the purpose of verifying suitability and conformance industry and construction specifications
  • Prepare daily reports and data sheets
  • May be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor
