About The Position

Kleinfelder's Ontario, CA office is seeking a Laboratory Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team. Take Your Construction Career to the Next Level! From construction observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories. Kleinfelder's Ontario, California office is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Southern California team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 0-2 years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.)
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and understanding applicable testing methods
  • Performing applicable testing on soils, aggregate, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials according to appropriate methods
  • Performing strength testing procedures
  • Preparing materials for laboratory testing
  • Reporting verification of conformance to construction plans and testing methods
  • Communicating effectively with clients, field technicians, laboratory supervisors, and other design professionals
  • Maintenance of Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations
