From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories. Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder's Houston, Texas office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Red River CoMET team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 + years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs ( e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.)

  • Texas Department of Transportation ( TXDOT )
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
  • High school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing testing on concrete, soil, and other construction materials in accord ance with applicable standard test methods
  • Reporting verification of conformance to approved plans and specifications
  • Communicating effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other design professionals
  • Maintenance of Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations
  • Perform field observations and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to the construction plans and specifications.
  • Submitting daily field reports and data reports summarizin g daily activities.
