About The Position

The Construction Materials Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the construction materials management, ensuring efficient storage, inventory management, and timely delivery of materials and equipment for construction projects, while also managing staff and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in materials and warehouse management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management software and other computer systems. SAP by Design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records of all materials and equipment.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with data storage systems.
  • Manage and document transfer of custody of construction materials to contractor(s).
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Ensure efficient storage and retrieval of materials and equipment.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse layout and organization in various locations throughout construction site.
  • Manage warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other machinery.
  • Coordinate with Construction Management Team to ensure sufficient and proper laydown space at the construction site.
  • Review the procurement schedule and identify the need for additional warehouse or laydown space based on incoming deliveries.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff, including warehouse associates and forklift operators.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction crews and purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist with the development and management of the warehouse budget.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
