What You Will Do: As a Construction Materials Professional , you are vital in guaranteeing the integrity and safety of construction endeavors by evaluating and confirming the characteristics and quality of materials used. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Engineer, you will coordinate field explorations, field logging of soil samples, perform engineering calculations/design, prepare proposals and reports, and provide project and client support. Testing construction materials: Perform tests and oversee special inspections of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and others to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards. Analyzing construction plans and specifications: Verify that they align with project goals before conducting field observations. Recording and managing field activities: Document detailed observations and test results during project execution, using Metafield® or other management systems daily for efficient data handling and coordination. Preparing reports and proposals: Help draft reports and proposals for smaller projects, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments and documentation. Communicating daily: Interact with management, contractors, and clients to maintain project transparency and provide regular updates on progress. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar technical field Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt Project management experience or interest in project management, a plus Certifications: Active Construction Materials industry certifications, such as: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician, and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils) Key Competencies: Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language Working Conditions and Physical Demands: This role involves hands-on work in outdoor environments, and with Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you'll need to be comfortable with: Working outdoors in varying weather conditions Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day) Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment) Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs arise We Are S&ME: At S&ME, we're committed to your growth, professionally and personally. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar technical field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
