Construction Materials Internship (Level 1)
About The Position
This internship offers practical experience in construction materials testing and inspection. Interns will be involved in observing and documenting field activities related to the construction process, as well as sampling, testing, and inspecting various materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement. The role also includes performing calculations, data reduction of test results, drafting, using field screening equipment, documenting readings, and interpreting engineering and construction plans. Interns will interact and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers, with the goal of gaining the confidence to represent ECS independently on project sites.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degree
- Interest in how building materials are utilized in the construction process
- Ability to carry 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lift 85 lbs to waist height
- Ability to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites
Responsibilities
