As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician , you'll play a vital role in ensuring construction projects, from local eateries to major sports venues, are built with quality and safety at the forefront. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels
- Associate Technician/Technician I: 0-2 years relevant experience
- Technician II: 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an Associate's degree
- Technician III: 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an Associate's degree
- Technician IV: 5+ years of relevant experience; prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
- Industry certifications such as American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician, and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic math proficiency, including understanding of measurements and units of weight
- The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and interest in occasional travel
Responsibilities
- Performing field and laboratory testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
- Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
- Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
- Working closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure all work meets specifications and safety guidelines.
- Experience shifting work hours based on project demands and weather, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half).
- Occasional travel to support other offices is covered with per diem and lodging.
