About The Position

Certerra/Insight Group has an immediate opening for a full-time Field (level 1) Construction Materials Testing (CMT) technician in Buda, Texas. The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team. Requirements

A strong safety focus and attention to detail
Excellent plan reading skills
A demonstrated math and technical aptitude
Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
State DOT certifications, and/or NICET certifications
A High School diploma or equivalent
A valid driver’s license
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking as needed during safety inspections and training sessions.
The ability to lift 50-75 pounds
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

ICC Concrete and Soils Certifications preferred or must be willing to get within 1 year
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification - must be willing to get within 1 year
2-5+ years of construction materials testing experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
Maintaining required certifications
Coordinating with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional state.
Travel to client facilities as needed
Report writing and computer skills
Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
