Seeking a Construction Field Technician to perform testing and inspection services for private, state, county, ODOT and other projects. Responsible for performing on-site testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, steel, and more to ensure they meet project specifications. Document test results and field activities daily and communicate directly with owners' representatives, project managers, contractors, and other on-site personnel. Local travel to job sites and occasional overtime/weekend work is required.

  • Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.
  • Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects, as well as municipal utility or infrastructure projects.
  • Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals.
  • Verify plan quantities and calculations with as-bid plans, prepare and maintain project records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
  • Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.
  • Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
  • Prior construction experience is strongly preferred (general labor, concrete, earthworks, etc.)
  • Candidates with a degree but no prior experience will be considered (i.e., engineering, construction, geology, earth science)
  • High school diploma required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends as necessary
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors year-round on construction sites
  • Prior construction material testing/inspection experience
  • ACI, Nuclear Gauge, NICET, NETTCP certifications
