About The Position

BRG’s Global Construction Engineering Consulting practice offers professional experience and competence in fact-finding, data analytics, claims/dispute analysis and management, and litigation support, along with technical expertise in engineering, architecture, construction management, public contracting, specifications and technical document development, schedule development and analysis, cost analysis, negotiations, and expert witness testimony. Our experts are experienced in litigation and domestic and international arbitration, and include Professional Engineers, Project Management Professionals, Registered Architects, AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professionals, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, and executive industry leaders. We are seeking a consultant with strong construction scheduling, cost management, and insurance claims background. You will be expected to provide full life-cycle support for all project controls functions including schedule management, risk management, earned value management, cost & change management on assigned projects. Additionally, you will support other experts and senior staff from a project management standpoint on claims related to delays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field
  • Minimum six (6+) years of design or construction experience across a range of projects
  • Minimum six (6+) experience in project controls and scheduling
  • Must be proficient in the use of Primavera P6
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments and clients simultaneously
  • Strong communication with abilities to articulate solutions to clients
  • This position will be based on the East Coast, preferably in Washington, DC. Open to other locations like NYC, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience in delay damages, extended overhead, labor inefficiency, unpaid contract balance, and change order or scope change pricing is desirable but not required
  • Experience in the analysis of complex construction disputes, including defective. construction issues, design errors and omissions, schedule delays, scope of work and change order disputes, and labor inefficiency is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Review contract, specifications, and drawings to confirm design and construction schedule baselines and updates for comprehensiveness, quality, constructability and risk.
  • Develop and implement cost administration and reporting systems including estimates, budgets, schedules, manhour, cost, and earned value reports.
  • Review critical path, cost loading, schedule content and forecasted work.
  • Identify relationships, constraints, optimal sequence of work, and milestones within project work schedule.
  • Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders.
  • QA/QC review of schedule submissions for conformance.
  • Provide support and assistance with Company business development efforts.
  • Ensure all project control procedures are in place and being followed.
