About The Position

The Construction Manager role is primarily field-based, with 95% of the responsibilities taking place on-site. The Construction Manager will oversee construction projects as an extension of the Project Manager (PM), ensuring that all activities are carried out according to the provided schedule. This position requires strong customer relations skills, effective communication with various stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of construction management, including safety, compliance, and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction management or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with project documentation and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in utility construction management.
  • Familiarity with local regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Certification in safety management or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relations and communication with field inspectors, customer agents, city staff, regulatory agency representatives, utility coordinators, subcontractors, and the general public.
  • Escalate field issues to the Project Manager.
  • Oversee in-field OSP activities and ensure compliance with project schedules.
  • Submit daily construction reports with supporting documentation.
  • Collect and process daily submittals from crew foremen and subcontractors.
  • Arrange for project preparation activities such as signage and utility locates.
  • Submit requests for traffic control and coordination of materials needed for construction.
  • Prepare and organize project-related submittals as requested by the PM.
  • Manage crew health and safety on job sites and enforce safety programs.
  • Inspect field equipment and notify the PM of any concerns.
  • Coordinate with HSE personnel for incident management and compliance.
  • Ensure timely closure of inspection gigs, resident complaints, and internal deficiencies.
