Schedule the project resources in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadline Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems Assist the Project Manager to prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports or cost tracking reports Work closely with the Project Manager to interpret and understand plans and contract terms and be able to execute scope of work accordingly Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems Take actions effectively to deal with the results of delays, inclement weather or emergencies at the construction site Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations and ensure contracted scope is completed Study job specifications, plans and scope of work to determine appropriate construction methods Direct and supervise all workers for assigned projects Ensure crew profitability and meeting scheduled completion dates for assigned projects Perform installation of antennas, mounts, cable ladders, microwave radio systems and complete new tower construction and tower maintenance Lead safety/tailgate meetings and submit field related documentation Mentor and train tower technicians to enhance the performance of the team Implement and oversee Quality Assurance Inspections and Processes Requisition supplies or material to complete construction projects Investigate damage or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites Evaluate construction methods and help determine cost-effectiveness of MOD Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental health and safety Maintain company vehicle and trailer in a clean and presentable condition. Personal Attributes: Must have reliable transportation to and from office location Must be willing to travel and be able to work within a non-structured schedule, i.e., long hours, weekends, etc. Mechanically inclined Self-Motivated and able to learn efficiently Team oriented Coachable/adheres to instructions Supervisory Responsibility: The Construction Manager is a supervising member of the organization who will float between various crews and projects. He or she has demonstrated a high proficiency level in all tasks related with tower site construction. He or she has also established a high level of responsibility and accountability for himself or herself and those under their supervision. A Construction Manager is expected to participate, supervise, and oversee all work tasks performed on site, inspecting each phase as required, ensuring the quality of the installation pertaining to tower erection, coax & waveguide installation, connector fitting, weather proofing, antenna assembly, installation/grounding systems and all other procedures related to the industry. Work Environment & Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent work in adverse weather conditions Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint and possible extended stays at external destinations. Travel time can be anywhere from three to six weeks at a time, with appropriate breaks. Additional Requirements: Must have valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. CDL Class A certification a plus Must be able to pass a background check for government security clearances General tower and fall protection safety knowledge and ability to utilize 100% tie off techniques at all times Ability to properly inspect and use PPE Construction and maintenance experience of Self-Support and Guyed towers, monopoles and antenna structures Basic Rigging ability to utilize the proper ropes, blocks and tackles. Gin pole experience preferred Knowledge of using transits, compass, set azimuths to standard engineering processes Antenna alignment tool experience Install wireless antenna mounts and antennas for microwave and cellular communication systems Sweep & PIM testing experience.
