About The Position

We are looking for a Construction Manager candidate, with a minimum of 10 years of experience to be based out of our San Diego office. This is a position for a talented Construction Manager seeking a growth opportunity to advance their skills and requires the ability to be onsite at projects full time. The ideal candidate for this opportunity can work independently with minimum supervision, has sound construction management skills, is team oriented, personable, and possesses a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. This position requires a well-organized and versatile individual who is experienced in construction management with some experience in project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management working as Owner's Representative
  • California PE or CCM Certification required
  • Onsite experience performing construction management on public works projects
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills
  • Solid experience with the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Experience with Small to Large projects ($5M - $200M)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
  • Experience working with government agencies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scheduling software (i.e., MS Project and/or Primavera) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work under the general supervision of Senior Management, managing projects and serving as a liaison between owners, contractors, engineers, and architects
  • Manage and conduct regularly scheduled meetings, providing organized and articulate minutes and/or follow up
  • Ensure projects are running smoothly and are on schedule, identifying problems areas and working with the team to provide solutions
  • Provide constructability review by reading drawings, identifying issues, working with responsible team for resolution
  • Coordinate testing and inspections
  • Review and prepare cost estimates, including initiating change orders as needed
  • Prepare thorough and organized status reports
  • Review schedules, pay requests, RFIs and submittals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
