Summary/objective: The Construction Manager will join the Guardian team in order to ensure smooth operations of various construction projects. Responsibilities: Manages design/build, construction management, or construct-only projects from project assignment through completion. May be responsible for managing concurrently more than one project. Accountable for all construction activities on assigned project(s). Serve as a liaison between Company, subcontractors, and construction teams on basic project issues. Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions, such as, but not limited to, technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries. Review with manager all project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors, which may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget. Supervise work of project personnel to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards. Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements. Define the scope of assigned projects and develop plan to accomplish projects. Monitor progress toward deliverable schedules. Compile project status reports. Review job cost sheets and assist with preparation of monthly billings. Ensure assigned projects stay within budget allocation. Assist manager in securing repeat business from existing clients and identifying new clients. Requirements Required Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma/GED required. College degree preferred. Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment is required. Skilled in providing excellent customer relations by exchanging information with courtesy and consideration. Ability to exhibit a professional demeanor, and develop customer relations and superior service. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of an organization internally and externally. Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand necessary service and training manuals. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to understand and follow and convey verbal and/or demonstrated instructions. Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer needs. Ability to safely operate personal hand tools. Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do such. Must have experience in the installation and operation of Petroleum Handling Equipment Such other knowledge, skills, and abilities as are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties. Looking for a Licensed Petroleum Construction Manager with experience in the industry. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses and hard hats required while performing certain tasks. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel: Regional travel with occasional overnight stays are expected for this position.
