About The Position

Chief Ethanol is seeking a Construction Manager to join the Chief team. In this role, The Construction Manager oversees all phases of construction projects from initial planning through final completion. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Construction Manager coordinates field operations, manages subcontractors, and works closely with project stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes .

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or GED, required.
  • Minimum 5 five years' experience in management or construction is required .
  • Must possess OSHA 10-hour certificate, successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, and possess a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and protects the good name of Chief Industries and its brands within the community and surrounding area.
  • Project Planning & Coordination Develop and manage construction schedules, work plans, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to interpret plans and resolve project challenges.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning, including budgeting, feasibility, and scope reviews.
  • Lead or participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts.
  • Construction Oversight Oversee day-to-day field operations to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel; verify performance and adherence to contract requirements.
  • Manage interfaces between EPC contractor , major equipment vendors, and owner's operations/permitting teams.
  • Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Identify and resolve issues for timelines, costs, and safety.
  • Oversee commissioning and turnover packages meet operational requirements.
  • Assists in preparing all close-out documentation and complete punch list in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Cost & Quality Management Monitor and control project schedule, project costs, quality standards, labor productivity, and contract terms.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and progress payments.
  • Maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate all owner-furnished equipment and materials (OFE/OFM)
  • Safety Leadership Enforce company and regulatory safety standards; promote a culture of safety on job sites.
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state environmental permits, process safety management (PSM), and ethanol-industry-specific standards (e.g., RFS, LCFS)
  • Communication & Reporting Provide regular progress updates to leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, inspection reports, and project records.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings and communicate expectations clearly across teams.
