This project is located at Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME. This project will repave 5 miles of or the Park Loop Road System per recommendations of Pavement Management System. This road is part of the historic Acadia Park Loop Road System, the most heavily used visitor facility in the park. These pavement and other site improvements include: Pavement preservation work on Park Loop Road, from the intersection with Paradise Hill Road, Egg Rock Overlook, Precipice Parking Area Pavement crack sealing, transition milling, partial and full depth pavement patch repairs, pavement milling, and hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement overlay. Existing swale/ditch cleaning and/or restoration including regrading and repairs to stone lining. Construction of new stone-lined and paved swales/ditches. Resetting guard wall stones and placement of aggregate topsoil to regrade shoulders and back up pavement edges. New striping and pavement markings. Replacement, rehabilitation, and cleaning of selected culverts of various types at several locations, including regrading near inlets and/or outlets and, as necessary to facilitate culvert replacement, removal and resetting/reconstruction of stone masonry culvert headwalls. Rehabilitation of selected brick drop inlets, dry-laid stone masonry drop inlets, and dry-laid stone masonry stone culverts. Replacement of permanent traffic control signs, including posts.
